Whenever I’m traveling and I still want to enjoy & try out some local cuisine (also the high carb variety), I do my best to take control of the first part of the day. That way, you limit the ‘damage’ from what you’re eating later on (and what you ate the evening before), by getting your body back into fat-burning mode through a breakfast that only consists of coffee/tea + healthy fats. If you’re in a hotel and have a breakfast buffet included, try to stick to eggs, bacon, cheese and generally whatever low-carb options you have available, while adding some healthy fats of your own (MCT or coconut oil).
