Our most used cooking appliances – Make cooking on Keto easy

Today we’re talking about the importance of having the right kitchen appliances, or the right equipment to make the process of preparing delicious Ketogenic meals as enjoyable as possible. I know this might not sound like an important topic, but in my opinion it is. And it’s something that almost nobody talks about.

I’m also going to show you some of the things that we love to use on a regular basis. The goal is to make your transition to eating mostly whole, natural, unprocessed food that you yourself prepared as easy and effortless as you can.

At the same time, I don’t want you to throw out money for kitchen appliances that you’re just going to use once and then never again.

So my girlfriend and I really enjoy cooking, and that wasn’t necessarily the case before we started Keto. One reason is that we enjoy the food we eat now way more than what we were eating before but the other one is that we also found the right tools for our kitchen that make preparing healthy meals more fun and less time consuming.

There are simply days were you want to spend as little time as possible in the kitchen cooking, cleaning etc., for example after a long day at work on when you’re stressed out.

Obviously, you also have some days when you’re feeling more relaxed, you don’t have time-pressure and you’re willing to experiment and to make meals that are more time consuming and need more hands-on-time to be prepared.

Generally, before we prepare our meals we always ask ourselves this question
– What vegetables are we going to cook? These usually fill most of our plate
– What will be our protein source?
– Which healthy fats will we prepare our food in and which fat source will we add on top of our veggies when they’re finished?
and then we start cooking.

Ok, now I’m going to show you the kitchen appliances we use on a regular basis. These are the things that we’ve come to appreciate the most and that make cooking a lot easier and less time-consuming for us.

Some things I mentioned that we use regularly:
Instant Pot (we have the DUO60)
Baratza Encore coffee grinder
French Press
Hamburger Press
Steamer Set (we use this less since we have the Instant Pot)
Stainless steel tea/coffee filter
Bosch stand mixer
Mini food processor/chopper

Having said that, in the spirit of minimalism I want to remind you, don’t buy any extras for your kitchen that you’re not going to use regularly. Nobody needs more stuff just sitting around and occupying space.
